A sigh of relief for public schools in California

November 7, 2012 |  6:57 am

Voters in California have passed Proposition 30, the $6 billion-a-year tax initiative that is supposed to stabilize funding for schools.

The big winners are public high school principals, superintendents, coaches and students. The yearly budget cuts or threats to cut the budget should end for a while.

"My plan is to enjoy this great day," City Section Commissioner Barbara Fiege said.
