Girls' golf: Palos Verdes wins Central division title

Elizabeth Doty shot a five-under 69 to lead Palos Verdes to the championship of the Southern Section Central division in girls' golf.

Mira Costa finished second, led by freshman Andrea Lee. North Torrance and Torrance also qualified for the state regional tournament on Monday at the Legends Golf Club in Temecula. All four team qualifiers are from the Ocean League.

In the Northern division, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame won the title. Arielle Valdez shot a one-over 72. Harvard-Westlake, Anaheim Canyon and Foothill also advanced.
