The Southern Section Pac-5 Division poll is completed, and Ventura St. Bonaventure (6-1) has climbed into the No. 1 spot for the first time.

Mission Viejo (7-0) is No. 2, Mater Dei (6-1) is No. 3, Alemany (7-1) is No. 4 and St. John Bosco (3-4) is No. 5.

The poll is a key part in determining seedings for the Pac-5 Division playoffs, so St. Bonaventure is in position to claim the No. 1 spot if it can win out in the Marmonte League. The Seraphs are expected to play in the Marmonte League championship game in week 10.

Mater Dei and St. John Bosco meet on Friday.

St. Bonaventure is in its first season playing in the Pac-5. The Seraphs own a win over Corona Centennial and came close to beating Santa Margarita when the Eagles had Johnny Stanton at quarterback. The big question will be if Mission Viejo goes 10-0, will the Diablos be able to move past one-loss St. Bonaventure?
