It’s good that Narbonne’s football players were busy at meetings during nutrition on Thursday, because 47 students were examined by paramedics after school police broke up a fight by discharging pepper spray.

Coach Manuel Douglas said none of his players were involved. They were at meetings in his classroom or in the classroom of an assistant coach in preparation for Friday’s Marine League opener against Carson. Narbonne is 5-0 and considered the favorite to win the City Section Division I football championship.
