Football: Nordhoff bids for its seventh consecutive victory

October 12, 2012 |  6:28 am

The community of Ojai is starting to get excited about its football team at Nordhoff High, and for good reason.

The Rangers are 6-0 going into a Tri-Valley League game on Friday night agaisnt Oak Park. They're ranked No. 1 in the Northwest Division and considered the top Division III team in Southern California for the CIF state championship Division III bowl game.

Oak Park figures to offer a huge test, but if Nordhoff makes it through the challenge with a victory, beware.

The Rangers have a tremendous group of junior players, led by quarteback Tanner Workman and running back Tayler Livingston. Workman has passed for 1,173 yards and 16 touchowns. Livingston has rushed for 593 yards and 11 touchdowns.

So far, Nordhoff's biggest win has come against Thousand Oaks from the Marmonte League.
