Junior Alex Suchesk of Mission Viejo is one of the fastest players in Orange County, and when he transferred from Santa Margarita in August, he helped change the balance of power in the Pac-5 Division.

He has become a big-play back for the Diablos. On Friday night, he had touchdown runs of 35, 56 and 80 yards in a 55-32 South Coast League victory over Tesoro. He finished with 203 yards rushing.

Suchesk was primarily the backup to Ryan Wolpin last season at Santa Margarita. He won the Trinity League 100-meter track championship. During summer passing competitions, you could see his breakaway potential. It would have been interesting to see how the Eagles would have used him this season.

Instead, he and receiver Sean Modster left for Mission Viejo, giving a huge boost to a Diablos offense that had few returnees.

Now Mission Viejo looks in ideal position to make a run at a perfect regular season. Trabuco Hills and El Toro are the last two teams standing in the way.
