Los Angeles Lincoln (8-1, 3-0) is in position to win its first Northern League championship since 1985 if it can get past Eagle Rock (6-3, 3-0) in a regular-season finale on Friday at Eagle Rock.

Lincoln also is battling South East and Van Nuys to be one of the top seeds for the City Section Division II playoffs.

Lincoln defeated Van Nuys in triple overtime in the season opener.

Eagle Rock has been revitalized on offense thanks to the addition of former Marshall Coach Andy Moran, who has added a passing attack.

Lincoln has its own effective offense behind quarterback Gilbert Soto and running back Roger Lemus.
