Encino Crespi is 7-0 and looking like a legitimate Serra League title contender. But the Celts get to face their neighborhood rival, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, on Friday at Notre Dame, and let’s just predict the game will end with something strange or dramatic happening.

That’s been the case the last three seasons. In 2010, Crespi pulled out a ‘miracle’ win on the final play, 34-28. The video (above) on YouTube has more than 97,000 viewings. In 2009, Notre Dame won, 23-21, on a 51-yard field goal on the final play.

Last season, Crespi blocked a field goal, blocked a punt and had to survive a last-second pass play to win, 28-26.

Notre Dame (4-3) has been knocked out of playoff contention the last two seasons by those Crespi losses. It’s going to be quite a game on Friday.
