Football: Canyon’s Drew Wolitarsky sets state record for receiving yards

One record down, another within striking distance. That’s the latest on Canyon Country Canyon receiver Drew Wolitarsky, who surpassed the state record for most receiving yards in a career on Friday night against Golden Valley.

Wolitarsky caught nine passes for 149 yards and four touchdowns. He now has 240 receptions for 4,585 yards in his career.

Former Taft receiver Steve Smith still holds the record for most receptions at 271 but his receiving yards record of 4,486 yards is no longer.
