Football: Advisory committee proposes state-wide tie-breaker

The CIF State Football Advisory Committee is proposing a state-wide tie-breaker for all football games that end regulation in a tie.

An overtime period would take place with the ball starting on the 10-yard line and each team getting one possession and four plays until a winner is decided.

The proposal will get a first reading on Oct. 25 at the Southern Section Council meeting in Long Beach.
