Boys' basketball: Chaminade students offer support to classmate

October 25, 2012 |  1:07 pm

Basketball players at West Hills Chaminade have decided to show their support for eighth-grader Nathan Newman by participating in the Los Angeles Brain Tumor Walk on Sunday at Exposition Park.

Newman, who attends Chaminade Middle School and plays basketball and soccer, is being treated for brain cancer.

Senior guard Jaron Martin has taken a leadership role in organizing players and coaches.

"It's important to show support for a Chaminade student in need," Coach Todd Wolfson said.
