In a rematch of last year's Southern Section Division 1A final, Los Angeles Marymount swept host Corona del Mar, 25-22, 25-21, 25-23, in a season-opening showdown Thursday night in Newport Beach.

Hitter Tori Jasuta had 14 kills to lead the Sailors, who moved up to Division 1AA this season along with Corona del Mar. The Sailors were No. 4 and Corona del Mar was No. 9 in the Prepvolleyball.com preseason national rankings.

Marymount trailed the Sea Queens by four points in the fifth set last fall but came back to win their second straight Division 1A title, 27-25, 21-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-12. The Sailors then advanced to the state Division 1 final, where they fell in five sets to defending champion Palo Alto.

Thursday's match will be televised Saturday at 4 p.m. on Time Warner Cable Channel 101.
