Football: The quiet before the noise begins at Saddleback College

When No. 1 faces No. 3, the fans get excited, so it should be a noisy, fun atmosphere on Friday night at Saddleback College, where No. 1 Santa Margarita (4-0) will face No. 3 Ventura St. Bonaventure (4-0).

Both are Pac-5 Division teams looking to establish themselves as teams to beat in their respective leagues, the Trinity and Marmonte.

It’s 2 1/2 hours before game time, and the Santa Margarita band is practicing, the banners are up and the flags are waving.

Both teams are ready to give their best. It’s a 7 p.m. start. The game will be shown live on Fox Sports West’s Prep Zone.
