Football: Servite pulls out 24-23 victory over Rancho Cucamonga

September 1, 2012 |  9:48 pm

Things were looking pretty bleak for Anaheim Servite Saturday night. The Friars fell behind Rancho Cucamonga, 23-3. They were down, 23-10, at halftime.

But Servite's defense rose up and helped lead a remarkable comeback that enabled the Friars to pull out a 24-23 victory. Junior quarterback Neil Pau'u played well in the second half. Andrew Moore scored two touchdowns.

Asked what he told his team at halftime, Coach Troy Thomas said, "Keep believing in each other."

Servite is 1-1. Rancho Cucamonga is 1-1.
