San Fernando will find out if its football program has really made a turnaround with the start of Valley Mission League play on Friday against visiting Reseda.

The Tigers are 3-0 under first-year Coach Robert Garcia, and Reseda will be a good test to see if San Fernando will be a title contender.

The league figures to produce lots of close, unpredictable games.

The best opener has Van Nuys at Canoga Park. Also, Sylmar is at Panorama.
