Football: QB Josh Rosen sets school record with seven TD passes

Sophomore Josh Rosen of Bellflower St. John Bosco set a school record with seven touchdown passes, and A.J. Holman caught a school-record four TD passes in the first half during the Braves’ 61-8 victory over Santa Fe.

St. John Bosco (3-0) plays host to Los Angeles Loyola (3-0) next Friday. Rosen completed 18 of 26 passes for 312 yards.

The Hilinski brothers, Kelly and Tyler, combined for more than 300 yards passing as Sherman Oaks Notre Dame defeated Taft, 56-0. Kelly, a senior, had three TD passes. Tyler, a sophomore, was four for four with a TD in the second half.

Santa Margarita set a school record with 609 yards in total offense in a 55-0 win over Trabuco Hills. Johnny Stanton completed 17 of 21 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns. Ryan Wolpin rushed for 173 yards and scored three touchdowns. Connor O’Brien had eight tackles, intercepted a pass and caught three passes for 63 yards and two touchdowns.
