Football: QB Conner Manning shows no signs of letting up

Sometimes coaches need to worry when a high school athlete commits early to a college. The question is whether the player has lost some of the motivation to perform at his very best.

Not quarterback Conner Manning of El Toro. He got a scholarship offer from Utah over the summer and quickly committed. And he’s off to a terrific start in his senior year.

After attempting 68 passes and passing for 466 yards and six touchdowns against Huntington Beach, he was 31 of 47 for 419 yards and three touchdowns against Clovis. He has nine touchdown passes and just one interception in two games while completing 67% of his passes.
