Lancaster Paraclete withstood a frantic comeback attempt by Dorsey in the fourth quarter to pull out a 26-24 victory at Antelope Valley College.

Paraclete took a 26-12 lead with eight minutes left in the fourth on a 42-yard touchdown run by Tylan McBride.

Dorsey quarterback Reginald Bell tried to rally the Dons (2-1), hitting Delvon Hardaway for a 47-yard touchdown. It was Hardaway’s third TD catch of the night, and he had 161 yards receiving on seven catches.

Then Dorsey’s defense stopped Paraclete on a fourth-and-one situation from the 25. Bell connected with Joshua Hill for a 41-yard pass play that set up a six-yard touchdown run by Daniel Lawson. But Dorsey’s two-point conversion attempt to run the ball was stopped.

The Dons recovered an onside kick, but Bell lost the ball on a fumble with 2:07 left, and Paraclete (3-1) ran out the clock.

McBride rushed for 110 yards in 14 carries.

Bell completed 24 of 37 passes for 335 yards and three touchdowns.

Paraclete quarterback Tyler Carvalho was effective running the option. He rushed for 85 yards. Kicker Andrew Jimenez had field goals of 40 and 42 yards. Linebacker Christian Ruiz had a big game for the Spirits on defense.
