Football: Mission Viejo is for real

Put me down as officially impressed with Mission Viejo (6-0). I hadn't been sold on the Diablos, because their schedule has been the weakest of any top 10 team.

But their 52-14 rout of Redlands East Valley on Friday night means they are going to be a very tough team in the Pac-5 Division.

Junior quarterback Ian Fieber continues to flourish. He passed for 303 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions. Mission Viejo had nine sacks.

On Oct. 19, Mission Viejo travels to unbeaten Tesoro. I'd start lining up tomorrow to get in.
