Just when Los Angeles Loyola faces its toughest early test of the season on Friday against unbeaten Bellflower St. John Bosco, the Cubs make their first appearance in The Times’ top 25 at No. 25.

St. Bonaventure and Narbonne break into the top five after impressive wins over Redlands East Valley and Long Beach Poly, respectively.
