Football: Another chance for City Section to gain respect

Last week, it was Crenshaw knocking off Oaks Christian and Narbonne beating Gardena Serra.

On Friday night, Narbonne gets to face Mater Dei in a nonleague game that gives another opportunity for a City Section team to earn respect against a Southern Section team.

Both schools are 4-0. If Narbonne wins, the Gauchos will have finished a demanding nonleague schedule that should leave them in great shape to make a strong a run at the City Section Division I championship.

The game will be shown at midnight on Time Warner Cable Channel 101.

Mater Dei fans are starting to fill the bleachers at Narbonne.
