There were some intense, well-played fall league games on Saturday at Burbank Providence, and one featured a four-point win by Los Angeles Loyola over West Ranch.

Loyola was missing starters Parker Jackson-Cartwright, Max Hazzard and Thomas Welsh. But Trey Mason scored 15 points and Mtume Armour made some key baskets while handling the ball effectively to help the Cubs pull out the victory.

West Ranch could win the Foothill League with the return of two standouts, 6-foot-7 Ako Kaluna (likely headed to Hawaii) and guard Kevin Harris.

But the Cubs showed they have a deep bench and players who like challenges.

Another top game was Woodland Hills El Camino Real getting a close victory over Crescenta Valley thanks to a blocked shot by Evan Wardlow in the final minute.

At Pasadena, Pasadena defeated Hart, 68-59, with Andre Spight scoring 19 points and Brandon Jolley 18. Vance Jackson had 23 points in La Salle’s 45-22 win over Blair.
