Ryan Lavarnway, an All-City player from Woodland Hills El Camino Real in 2005, is a catcher with the Boston Red Sox. He faced pitcher Randy Wolf, a 1994 El Camino Real graduate who started for the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday at Fenway Park.

No word if they exchanged their secret El Camino Real handshakes afterward.

Wolf pitched five innings and allowed three runs. Lavarnway went one for six on the day. The Orioles won in 12 innings, 9-6.
