No one knows where the Tyler Heineman story is going to end, except for maybe the major leagues.

Heineman, who played catcher at Los Angeles Windward, walked on at UCLA and became an All-Pac-12 honoree, finished as the leading hitter in the New York-Penn League this summer with a .358 batting average.

He was an eighth-round draft pick of the Houston Astros. And hitting isn’t even his strength. It’s defense.
