Santa Ana Mater Dei standout Jeremy Martinez is missing school for a couple of days to represent the United States as a member of the USA 18U national team competing in the World Championships in South Korea.

Martinez had a three-run triple Sunday to help USA defeat Colombia, 11-1.

Martinez had two singles on Monday as USA defeated Venezuela, 3-2.

The team continues pool play on Tuesday with a game against Australia.
