Good luck to opponents trying to contain running back Terrell Newby of West Hills Chaminade. It’s going to be quite a challenge.

‘Terrell Newby was the best player on the field,’ Coach Ed Croson said after the Eagles’ scrimmage on Thursday against Highland.

Newby’s running ability makes the Eagles a very dangerous offensive team. Receiver Elijah Dunston also came up big against Highland. Donovan Lee had a punt return for a touchdown, and Croson liked what he saw from his defensive line.

There’s still no winner in the quarterback competition between Reggie Reed and Brad Kaaya, so Croson intends to play both in the Eagles’ opener next Friday against Venice.
