Football: Oaks Christian tries to correct mental mistakes

You'd think after winning your first game by a score of 40-0, there would be lots to celebrate about. But first-year Coach Jeff Woodruff of Westlake Village Oaks Christian knows the games will get tougher and mistakes need to be corrected.

So he had his team spend all of Monday watching video from its victory over Loomis Del Oro trying to point out and fix the mental errors.

Oaks Christian certainly has much potential. The Lions have lots of speed and improved depth on their offensive defensive lines.

But young players still need to prepare for improved opponents, considering that Oaks Christian is playing in the Pac-5 Division this season.

Next up is a Saturday game against Granite Bay at Westlake as part of the Battle for Veterans showcase.
