Football: Narbonne defense comes through in 41-0 victory

With 10 starters back on defense, City Section Division I title favorit Narbonne opened its season on Friday with a 41-0 victory over host Palos Verdes.

Linebackers Marquis Lomax and Keishawn Bierria were in dominant form for the Gauchos, who held a 14-0 halftime lead before the offense got into high gear in the second half.

Running back Tony Gates scored on a 74-yard run and finished with 158 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Troy Williamas had a touchdown pass and a touchdown run.

Narbonne faces Long Beach Poly next week.
