Football: Moorpark figures to be heard from this season

Moorpark and Coach Tim Lins are laying low, which is just how he likes it. But the Musketeers will be heard from during the Marmonte League this season.

Moorpark opened its season with a 31-0 victory over West Ranch.

Standout linebacker Tony Mack and nose tackle Tyler Puccio were in dominating form. On offense, Austin Cole made his first varsity start at quarterback and was solid, according to Lins.

Aaron Stanton rushed for 92 yards. Center Brigham Stoeher (6-foot-2, 280 pounds) did what he does best _ block and lead.

Moorpark has a bye this week before traveling to Bakersfield to play Frontier. Athletic director Rob Dearborn grew up in Bakersfield, so he'll be serving as tour guide.
