There’s no doubt what Los Angeles Loyola plans to do on offense this fall. The Cubs are expected to try to run the ball, and they’ve got a trio of quality running backs in returnee Wyatt Bradford, standout defensive back Cameron Walker and the big surprise, junior Nico Evans, who moves up from the JV team.

After Loyola’s intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, Coach Mike Christensen praised Evans, saying, ‘He’s going to be special.’

Christensen said quarterback Patrick Finnegan, who didn’t have the best of summers, has been steady in fall practice.

Loyola faces Harvard-Westlake in its opener on Aug. 23 at L.A. Valley College.
