Football: Harvard-Westlake has 14-7 lead over Loyola

Penalties by Loyola have helped Harvard-Westlake take a 14-7 lead over the Cubs late in the second quarter. Quarterback Chad Kanoff connected with Clinton Hooks on a seven-yard TD pass with 1:19 left in the second quarter to break a 7-7 tie.

The Wolverines got the chance when Loyola was called for roughing the kicker on a 33-yard field goal that missed.

Patrick Finnegan scored for Loyola on a one-yard sneak.

Hooks has caught eight passes for 76 yards. Kanoff has completed 13 of 24 passes for 174 yards.

Wyatt Bradford has rushed for 67 yards in eight carries for an inconsistent Loyola offense that lacked a passing game.
