Football: Ex-Crespi running back Russell White gets new job

August 19, 2012 |  6:15 pm

Former Encino Crespi standout running back Russell White is the new commissioner of the Oakland Athletic League, the Oakland Tribune reported.

White, regarded as one of the best high school running backs in California history, served as football coach at Castlemont High the last two years.

"Hopefully people will know that Russell White wasn't the smartest guy in high school, but he figured it out," White told the newspaper.
