Football: Crenshaw shows it still has talent

Crenshaw might be down to 30 players, but the Cougars still have plenty of good players. They opened their season Friday with a 43-31 win over Corona Santiago.

Dominique Hatfield scored three touchdowns. Mossi Johnson scored on a long TD catch. Max Lyons was all over the field on defense. Ajene Harris played well at quarterback.

Canoga Park knocked off Jefferson, 34-14, holding Marcus Stamps scoreless.

Birmingham got two touchdown catches from London Bell and 176 yards rushing from Isaiah Hastings in a 32-14 victory over Banning. Trae Smith threw three TD passes.

Jonathan Santos passed for five touchdowns in South East’s 47-12 win over Lawndale.
