August 24, 2012 |  7:36 am

James Williams was the talk of the Pacific League freshman teams last season when he rushed for more than 2,000 yards for Burbank.

On Thursday, in his varsity debut, he gained 180 yards in 12 carries in a 39-3 victory over Chatsworth. Steve Kim had four sacks for the Bulldogs.

Tony Kurtz rushed for 251 yards and scored five touchdowns as Anaheim Canyon defeated Fullerton, 35-28.

El Toro quarterback Conner Manning might have to ice his arm afer completing 44 of 66 passes for 454 yards and six touchdowns in a 47-24 win over Huntington Beach.

Canyon Country Canyon defeated Morningside, 49-12, with Brenden Stach getting three interceptions and Cade Apsay passing for 210 yards and one touchdown.
