Football: Bishop Amat stuns Servite

So much for Trinity League domination. It was an unranked team from the Serra League, Bishop Amat, that routed Anaheim Servite, 40-23, on Friday.

Servite made too many turnovers and couldn’t handle Bishop Amat’s athleticism. Junior quarterback Koa Haynes came through for the Lancers. Servite had a 25-game regular-season winning streak against California-based teams come to an end, last losing in 2009.

Suddenly, the Serra League, with Alemany, Crespi, Bishop Amat and Loyola all winning this weekend, looks very strong.
