Football: Birmingham has found a real Samson

Birmingham football Coach Jim Rose is walking around with a big smile this week, and for good reason. Samson Young, a 6-foot-6, 330-pound sophomore with size 18 shoes, decided to play football and has joined the team as a left tackle.

Rose thinks Young has quite a future.

Young played basketball last season as a freshman. He finally decided to play football and now must make it through 10 practices before being cleared to play.

Rose is convinced he can teach him how to block, and with Young's size and outstanding feet, the Patriots might have a blocker extraordinaire.
