Football: Another test for Jeremiah Allison

Former Dorsey defensive end Jeremiah Allison has been trying to help his family deal with the death of his mother, Lucille, who died last Thursday. She was 51.

Allison is at Washington State preparing for his freshman season. His story was told by The Times' Kurt Streeter last school year.

He was a straight-A student and All-City player who had to decide his college choice after his mother was hospitalized and fell into a coma following a heart attack in December.

A funeral will be held on Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. at The Living Room, part of the Faithful Central Bible Church, 400 West Florence Ave. in Inglewood. Lucille is survived by Jeremiah, daughter, Mary, and youngest son, Terry.
