Football: A 49-yard field goal for Patrick Cassley

One of the most improved kickers in the Southland is senior Patrick Cassley of Encino Crespi. He made a 49-yard field goal on Friday against Taft.

He's three for three on field goals this season and perfect on PATS.

That's a big improvement from a year ago, when he missed some PATS and field goals in big games for the Celts.

"I've been working real hard in the off season," he said. "I'm really confident this year."

Another kicker off to a good start is Jonathan Kim of Torrance Bishop Montgomery. He made three field goals, including a 47-yarder.
