Baseball: USC gets commitment from Mater Dei's Ryan McMahon
USC is certainly doing well with its Mater Dei connection. Third baseman Ryan McMahon, who will be a senior this fall, said Sunday he has committed to the Trojans.
McMahon is also the quarterback for the Monarchs' football team. USC's football team already has ex-Mater Dei quarterbacks Matt Barkley and Max Wittek. McMahon, though, only figures to play baseball for the Trojans.
He came on strong at the end of last season as a hitter and his athletic skills should make him a prominent contributor in college.
