Left-hander Tyler Skaggs, who was a standout pitcher at Santa Monica High, won his major-league debut on Wednesday, pitching 6 2/3 innings in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ 3-2 victory over Miami.

Skaggs, 21, was the No. 40 pick overall by the Angels in 2009.
