Baseball: Deandrey Carter leads Venice to RBI World Series win

Deandrey Carter had three hits, including an RBI double during a six-run seventh inning, to help Venice defeat Detroit, 11-2, at the RBI World Series in Minnesota. Venice is 2-0 in the tournament for 13 to 15-year-olds.

Kyle Stewart was two for two. Starting pitcher Guillermo Alcantar allowed two runs in six innings. Closer Chazz McNeil struck out three of the four batters he faced.

Later Friday, Venice improved to 3-0 with a 9-1 win over Jersey City. Duncan McKinnon, who attends Gardena Serra, had two hits and scored three runs. Matthew Kassowitz added two hits and scored three runs.
