Football: Crespi, Corona Santiago to hold combined summer practice

The football teams from Encino Crespi and Corona Santiago will get to know each other a lot better on Thursday, when Crespi players make the drive to Corona for a combined practice.

Coaches from both schools will direct players through drills and there will be seven-on-seven and 11-on-11 competitions without pads.

It's the third year the two programs have held a combined practice. Santiago Coach Jeff Steinberg and Crespi Coach Jon Mack have known each other through their coaching careers.

"We're taking them through one of our practices," Steinberg said.

Afterward, there will be a barbecue of hot dogs. And we'll see which team triumphs in 11 on 11.
