Jeff Steinberg, the football coach at Corona Santiago, is either tryng to get in good with his team’s moms or really enjoys explaining the game.

For the second year, he hosted Moms Football 101, with more than 40 players’ mom showing up at a local business to ask questions and get an education about football rules and strategy from Steinberg and his coaching staff.

‘It was a lot of fun,’ Steinberg said. ‘The moms have a blast.’

Drinking iced tea and coffee, the moms didn’t even ask about playing time. Well, one mom did but it wasn’t about a specific player.

Santiago opens the season Aug. 24 against Crenshaw.
