Football: St. John Bosco makes summer passing debut

June 28, 2012 |  6:40 am

Bellflower St. John Bosco took its mandatory 21-day summer break early, so the Braves have missed the top seven-on-seven tournaments.

But they will be making their summer debut on Saturday in the Bellflower tournament at Bellflower High. It's the first opportunity to see highly regarded sophomore quarterback Josh Rosen, who moves up from junior varsity.

Also in the tournament is Gardena Serra, which is loaded with outstanding skill-position players on offense and defense.

Pool A: Serra, Garden Grove Pacifica, La Quinta, Tahquitz.

Pool B: St. John Bosco, Beverly Hills, Hueneme, San Diego Horizon.

Pool C: St. Francis, Torrance, Santa Ana Valley, Desert.

Pool D: Bellflower, Alhambra, Lancaster, Sage Hill.

Action starts at 9 a.m.
