Football: Jay Jay Wilson is going to be summer sensation

The summer football season has begun, and the first new face to create excitement is going to be Valencia sophomore Jay Jay Wilson, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound receiver.

He has helped the Vikings come close to knocking off Alemany and Hart in championship games of seven-on-seven tournaments.

Coach Larry Muir said Wilson "is going to be very good." He started last season as a freshman on varsity. He could end up being a tight end.

His big body is causing trouble for defensive backs. The combination of Wilson, returning standout Tedric Thompson at defensive back and improved play at quarterback from Sean Murphy makes the Vikings a team to reckon with this month at several top passing tournaments.
