Football: Here come the transfers

School is almost over, and that means the transfers are ready to pull the trigger.

Oaks Christian should find out this week if sophomore to be Darick Holmes Jr. will be arriving from Pasadena Muir. He has applied to enroll but must pass the entrance exam. He already has a scholarship offer from UCLA based on his freshman year. He’s a running back-defensive back and would be eligible immediately under the one-time free transfer rule for freshmen that’s in effect for a final year.

A.J. Holman, a top senior receiver at Orange Lutheran, has checked out of school and will be transferring. St. John Bosco is a possibility.

The Inland Empire is getting some player movement, and the word is Vista Murrieta could be the destination for several players.

It’s going to be an intriguing summer off the field. Get your programs out and have a good eraser to chart the movement of players in the new era of free agency thanks to the revision of CIF transfer rules.
