Football: Hart linemen shine in competition

Besides seven-on-seven summer passing tournaments, there's also linemen competitions, and Newhall Hart's linemen were judged best at the College of the Canyons tournament.

Five linemen had 122 reps at 185 pounds during the bench press, defeating linemen from Alemany and Palmdale. They also competed and won in a tug-a-rope competition.

Leading the way were seniors John Perkins and Austin Lee and juniors Erik Stafford, Mason Cruz and Blake Porter.

It's a good sign for the Indians, who have been impressive this summer with their skill-position players.
