With receivers Steven Mitchell and Devin Ross out of town attending a camp, Mission Hills Alemany still had enough weapons to win the Conejo Valley tournament championship on Saturday, defeating Oaks Christian in the final.

It was the fourth seven-on-seven tournament championship this summer for the Warriors, who’ve also won at Valley College, Pierce College and Dana Hills.

Alif Grayes was outstanding on defense filling in for Mitchell. Quarterback Devon Dunn turned to receive Quentin Tartabull, who helped replace Ross. Alemany lost to Oaks Christian early in the day and came back to beat Camarillo, Westlake and Oaks Christian.

Next weekend, Alemany plays in the Saugus tournament beginning Friday at Central Park. Long Beach Poly is among the schools entered.
