Boys' basketball: The first funny text story is in

June 18, 2012 |  2:06 pm

Last Friday marked the first day college basketball coaches could send unlimited text messages to juniors and seniors in high school, and West Hills Chaminade 6-foot-8 junior Jack Williams received a text message at 12:01 a.m. from Northern Arizona.

"We're texting you at 12:01 because we want you to be a Lumberjack," was the message Williams received.

And there was this: "Our mascot already has your name in it: Lumber-'Jack.'"

Assistant coaches capable of writing witty text messages will be much in demand.
