There are certain things that will happen when the Fairfax tournament begins on Monday:

Trey Mason of Loyola will make three-pointers in bunches. He’s never had a bad shooting game in the Fairfax gym.

Mater Dei Coach Gary McKnight will rave about the 9-inch chili cheese dog at Pink’s and the Brooklyn sandwich at Canter’s.

Long Beach Poly center Jordan Bell will lead the tournament in dunks.

El Camino Real will be a surprise team in that people still don’t believe the Conquistadores are the favorite to win the City Section Division I title.

Isaac Hamilton of St. John Bosco will show he’s the best unsigned senior in Southern California.

The semifinals will be St. John Bosco vs. Loyola and LB Poly vs. Mater Dei.

The champion will be Poly.
